On the 9th May 2006 an IBSSA delegation of high standing with the leadership of Prof. George POPPER - President of IBSSA travelled to Tirana - the capital city of Albania in order to establish the IBSSA representation in the country. The trip was organised by Sir Nicholas KOSZTA - Secretary of the IBSSA Narcotics Policy Department and Regional Representative of IBSSA for the Balkan Region.

The IBSSA delegation was greeted by Mr. Avni PONARI - CEO of Sigal Insurance Company, which is the most significant insurance company of the Balkan region. The main scope of business of Sigal Co. - among others - are motor-car insurance and insuring buildings / facilities.

The delegation was invited to an informal meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by His Excellency Besnik MUSTAF - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania.

During the visit new members joined the IBSSA and undertook to launch the Albanian Section of IBSSA. These people are well-trained, skilled experts working in the civil security sphere as high-ranking officials, leaders - who worked previously as government guards of the President.

We set store by the above-mentioned things, because this country - which has 400 km seashore - is in for a dizzying development in the fields of tourism and economy.
