Report on the Awarding Ceremony of the “Aurel Vlaicu” University 1st June 2007, Arad / Romania
The “AUREL VLAICU” University of Arad - one of the most renowned state universities of Romania - organised a high-level and spectacular awarding ceremony on the 1st June 2007 in Arad.
The Senate of the University decided to award the High Academic Distinction of Doctor Honoris Causa to the following high-ranking personalities:
- Prof. George POPPER (HUN) – President of IBSSA for exceptional contributions to the affirmation of the idea of security and peace in Europe
- His Eminent Highness Count Sir José Manuel Costa da Veiga COSMELLI (POR) – Regent of the “Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories” for the outstanding humanitarian activities
Prof. Lizica MIHUT – Rector of “Aurel Vlaicu” University handed over the diplomas to the gentlemen, who both held extraordinarily successful lectures on different subjects, such as tourism, role of international organisations, safety of families and children, etc. during the ceremony.
The Senate of the University invited both gentlemen to be guest-lecturers of the university in the future.
The title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" of the "Aurel Vlaicu" University was given previously to such people of high standing as for example the President of the Republic of Hungary.
