IBSSA President’s visit in Bergamo / ITALY 6th World Championships of WKC 22nd – 24th June 2007


On the occasion of the 6th World Championships and according to the cooperation between IBSSA–ISF and World Karate Confederation (WKC) Prof. George POPPER – President of IBSSA was invited to attend the event as honorary guest.

During the WKC International Conference Prof. Popper gave detailed information about the new developments of IBSSA – ISF and closer cooperation with WKC in the field of Karate. IBSSA President welcomed the new decision of WKC that they include Kobudo in their future programs during the forthcoming world championships and other events, and promised to propose some kobudo organisations to join WKC.

Prof. George POPPER – President of IBSSA handed over the new plaques of IBSSA – ISF to Mr. Maurizio MICHELI – President of F.I.A.M. and to Dr. Fritz WENDLAND – Founding President of WKC as symbol of the fruitful cooperation.

Sir dr. Marko NICOVIC – President of WKC was awarded the “Medal of Honour” by Prof. George POPPER – on behalf of the “Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, Federation of the Autonomous Priories” for his lifetime fight against drugs.



During the very well organised and high-level championships numerous meetings and discussions were held between IBSSA members and potential IBSSA – ISF leaders from Italy, Argentine, Russia, Austria, Serbia, Slovenia, Romania and some other countries.

Mr. Ilio SEMINO (Italy) – Chairman of the IBSSA Private Investigation Department offered to held some lectures and trainings during the seminars of the forthcoming Congress of IBSSA, which will be held between 26 – 28 October 2007 in Belgrade, Serbia – as he is a famous Karate Instructor.

Prof. George POPPER invited Dr. Fritz WENDLAND as Honorary Founding Member to the IBSSA Congress in Belgrade and had a thorough discussion about the preparations of the event with Sir dr. Marko NICOVIC – 1st Vice President of IBSSA and the main supervisor of the Congress and its related programs.
