Report of the IBSSA Country Representative for Belgium - ANNEX 9 - XII Congress of IBSSA - 27th October 2007

Dear IBSSA members, and all present guests,

First of all, please let me thank you for the opportunity to speak before you, in name of Mr. Krisztian ZERKOWITZ – Country Representative of IBSSA for BELGIUM. He has kindly asked me to represent him as he is on a mission at the moment and is unable to attend.

We would like to inform you about the plans and the progress that the Belgian chapter has for the future.

At the moment, we are finalizing the legal status of the IBSSA Belgium chapter, in order to be able to put up a website that will allow us to inform new candidates of the IBSSA Belgium and International activities.

With the new representation of the French speaking community, myself, we have established a partnership between France and Belgium. This is a very close cooperation with Mr. Eddine OSMAN – International Coordinator of IBSSA for FRANCE and NORTH AFRICE, whom we would like to thank for his very warm welcome during our visit to Paris.

The IBSSA supported Belgian Urban Close Combat Academy has had the recent visit of Mr. Tim Tacket, who is one of the final Masters of the Jeet Kune Do art – who trained directly with Bruce Lee. This event was a big success, which attracted new students to the art.

IBSSA Belgium is also planning an International Urban Close Combat Seminar for May 2008. During this event all members will be invited internationally and during the two-day course, organised in Belgium, a crash course in Urban Close Combat will be taught by Master Teacher Didier COPPENS and Mr. Krisztian ZERKOWITZ. The event is going to be a very high level event with a lot of new stuff for all executive protection specialists.

Otherwise, we are working on contacts with the Ministry of Interior, the security of the state and several police and counter terrorism units to get the IBSSA known and possibly establish cooperation with these forces.
