ALL EYES OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROTECTION INDUSTRY WILL BE ON ARIZONA IN LATE 2009 FOR THE 1st ANNUAL BODYGUARD WORLD GAMES HOSTED BY SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS GROUP, LLC IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE INTERNATIONAL BODYGUARD & SECURITY SERVICES ASSOCIATION.
July 14, 2008 - Phoenix, Arizona - Special Assignments Group, LLC a Phoenix based company specializing in International Executive Protection has announced they will host the 1st annual Bodyguard World Games in late 2009.
This one-week international competition will feature 10 of the top Executive Protection / Bodyguard teams from around the world testing their skills in such areas as shooting, driving, team movements and protective intelligence. "This is a first-of-its-kind competition to bring together international members of the professional protection community" - says Karl DelaGuerra, President of Special Assignments Group in an interview on Monday at his home in Phoenix, "Our liaison with the International Bodyguard & Security Services Association (www.IBSSA.org) as their Regional Representative here in Arizona is what will make this international event possible." Company CEO Manny Valenzuela will be in Europe this September raising international media interest in the Games and update the leadership of the IBSSA at their headquarters in Budapest, Hungary.
"We are able to hold this event in the Valley due to the great weather conditions that exist here all year and the long standing reputation of inter-agency cooperation that exists in Arizona within the protection community." This event is open to both government and private protection teams from around the world. Judges for the Games will be Master Instructors from the IBSSA, all currently operational in their areas of expertise.
A selection committee from the IBSSA will select the 10 teams to participate in this event from those that register to compete. Special events and skill demonstrations will be held for the public throughout the week of the Games, featuring different aspects of being a professional bodyguard. "Viewing the Games will be open to the public and media. We want this to be an international venue recognizing those protection professionals at work around the world who risk their lives to protect people and assets every day." says DelaGuerra, "We guarantee the 2009 World Bodyguard Games will be action packed and of interest to anyone who enjoys physically and mentally demanding team competition!".
