May 17, 2011 (Budapest, Hungary) - On behalf of the IBSSA Board of Directors, IBSSA President – Prof. George POPPER today announced the approval of the first ever "Baseline Standard for U.S. Corporate Executive Protection Professionals". This baseline standard was developed by International Protective Services Institute President & Co-Founder Mr. Karl de la Guerra – Regional Representative of IBSSA for North Carolina and Member of the IBSSA Education & Qualification Department.
This new standard provides a baseline for individual knowledge and personal ability for those engaged in Corporate Executive Protection in the United States.
Being notified of the announcement shortly after the decision was made, Karl de la Guerra stated, "This is a milestone in the progression of our industry. To have a baseline standard established for all corporate executive protection professionals in the United States was greatly needed. The endorsement and approval of the IBSSA is seen as instrumental in raising the standards of our profession. It is my hope that both individuals and organizations involved in corporate executive protection will accept these IBSSA standards and utilize them as a baseline for their organizations".
