The "Federation of Autonomous Priories of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta" organised a memorable Knight Ceremony on the 13th September 2003, in Budapest / Hungary. On this particular occasion numerous high-ranking leaders of large international and national organisations from Hungary, Slovenia, the Netherlands and Great Britain were conferred Knight of Malta or were advancing higher grade by His Beatitude Dom Lorenzo O.S.B. - the Regent of the "Federation of Autonomous Priories of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta", Patriarch and Primate Metropolitan of the American Orthodox Catholic Church, Jurisdiction of New York. At the beginning of the ceremony the present officials, Knights and Dames commemorated the decease Knights and during this ceremony the wish of Dr. György LASZ (who passed away recently) came true, that he wanted to be conferred Knight of Malta together with his elder son. His Beatitude Dom Lorenzo O.S.B. - the Regent of the Order conferred Dr. György LASZ posthumous Knight Commander and his son, Jr. György LASZ (Owner of IN-KAL Co.) became Knight of Malta. The following Postulants were also conferred to Dame or Knight of Malta during the ceremony
On the Knight Ceremony and during all programs in Hungary the following high-ranking personalities supported and stood by the Regent of the Order
After the conferring of the Postulants, Dr. Levente GYENES, KCM (Hungary) - International Coordinator of IBSSA for Europe, Mayor of the city Gyömro and Commander of the Hungarian Rescue Team of the Knight Order - was advancing of Grade "Grand Officer of Knight of Malta" and Dr. László BARÁTH, KM (Hungary) - President of IBSSA Hungarian Foundation, Managing Director of Védelem Ltd. - was promoted to "Knight Commander". Nominations of great significance GCKM Prof. George POPPER (HUN) - Executive President of IBSSA was appointed "Governor" of the Federation, and Dr. Eric Van de WALL, KM (NED) - Chairman of Medical Department of IBSSA - was promoted Communication and Human Resources Minister of the Knight Order. During their visit and stay in Hungary the delegation of VIP officials were invited by Mr. Sándor BURÁNY - Minister of Employment and Labour Ministry. The meeting went on more than an hour, where both parties inter alia discussed the different possibilities and ways, how the Knight Order and its officials could promote and support the development of Hungary and also help the country to integrate the EU. On the 12th September the delegation attended the Official Opening ceremony of the International Crime Prevention Academy, which was organised at the Hungarian Police Academy. His Beatitude Dom Lorenzo O.S.B. - the Regent of the Order, who is also President of PRO-DEO University - held the welcoming speech. It was the second time for Dr. Béla BLASKÓ police majorgeneral, Honorary member of IBSSA, Commander of the Police Academy and Dr. Béla DANIELISZ - Honorary member of IBSSA and President of the General Assembly of Budapest having the honour to meet the Regent of the Knight Order. The leader of the new Academy is Dr. Ferenc TÓTH - who is also President of the IBSSA Hungarian Section and President of the "For Hungarys Safety Foundation". At the Headquarters of the Fire Department of Budapest, after the ceremonial general assembly and the fancy traditional entering of the honoured flag, carried by a liveried man, His Beatitude Dom Lorenzo O.S.B - the Regent of the "Federation of Autonomous Priories of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta", Patriarch and Primate Metropolitan of the American Orthodox Catholic Church, Jurisdiction of New York - awarded "Honour of Merit" the Fire Department of Budapest for the heroic, altruist and life-saving activity of its people and awarded the Commander of the Fire Department - Dr. Péter BENDE fireman major-general, Honorary member of IBSSA. Mr. Attila TATÁR, fireman major-general - Director of the National Disaster Recovery Department, Dr. Béla DANIELISZ - Honorary member of IBSSA and President of the General Assembly of Budapest and Dr. Levente GYENES - International Coordinator of IBSSA for Europe and Commander of the Hungarian Rescue Team of the Knight Order were also present at this ceremony. On the 14th September the high-ranking leaders and officials, considering the fact that H.R.H. Prince Michael James Alexander STEWART Count of Albany is the Honorary President of IBSSA, attended the closing events of the II. "SEC-tember" IBSSA International Special Security Training Course - which were dotted with professional and exciting demonstrations. These demonstrations took place at the Headquarters of the Adyliget Law Enforcement College, with the active participation of the representatives of numerous TV stations and other media. After the demonstrations the Closing Ceremony and banquet was organised in the Ministry of Defence Officers Club Queen Elisabeth Restaurant, which was honoured with His Beatitude Dom Lorenzo O.S.B. - the Regents of the Knight Order, H.R.H. Prince Michael James Alexander STEWART Count of Albany - Head of the Royal House of Stewart, His Excellency Prof. José Manuel Costa Da Veiga COSMELLI lieutenant-general - Prime Minister of the Knight Order, and His Excellency GCKM Dr. Giuseppe MORABITO - Minister of the Order, Representative of PRO-DEO University and also numerous high-ranking personalities. H.R.H. Prince Michael James Alexander STEWART Count of Albany - Honorary President of IBSSA, and Prof. George POPPER, GCKM - Executive President of IBSSA handed over the participation diplomas to the attendees of the training course. During the five days program the VIP guests became acquainted with the lions of Budapest, the best restaurants and they visited the House of Opera.
