seminars during the championships and also some spectacular events as
the Opening Ceremony at the Convention Hall, Reception at the City Hall
given by the Mayor of Riga and Press Conferences with the attendance
of numerous VIPs (ambassadors, high political and other leaders of the
country).

The Board agreed, that some important points should be added to the
handbook on how to organise events

  • 1 year before the event the Organising Committee has to go to the
official authorities (government, municipals etc.) in order to find
high level patrons or sponsors for the event
  • 6 months before the Organising Committee has to deal with Hotels,
sign the contract so to maintain the required quantity of accommodation
    for the event
  • The Organising Committee must prepare all the necessary information
(posters, issuing materials) and give all contact points (phone, fax,
    e-mail)
  • Medical handbook has to be ready for the event
  • Independent of the place of the forthcoming World Martial Arts Championships
and Festivals, it is obligatory for the Organising Committee to use
the same Logo and aspects of the event

The Board of Directors considered the meetings and discussions with
World Anticriminal and Antiterrorist Forum (WAAF) and with VIMPEL very
successful. Mr. Victor Nikolajevics KIM - Vice President of "Vimpel" was
present at the 2nd World Martial Arts Championships and Festival in Riga
and he also introduced and gave brief information about
"Vimpel" during the Opening Conference of IBSSA Latvia representation
office on the 17th November 2002 (Sunday).

Dr. Eriks GRINBERGS - Head of the Organising Committee of the 2nd IBSSA
